The Bowl Process: The first step that was undertaken was to create a guide utilising the tools and gauges that were provided during the workshop to create a shape that reflected the R125 curve structure. Below on Image 1; Demonstrates the curve that was achieved through movement and strategic impact with the pointed and rounded mallet. After the shape resembled an R125 gauge, by utilising the english wheel, the form was developed and the lumpiness of the bowl was repeatedly removed through constant push and pull action on the wheel. Below on Image 2 reflects the finish that was achieved after this; On image 2 above, there is a slight opening underneath the gauge, so additional movement through the english wheel was required; Image 3 & 4 below is a secondary finish that was achieved; Finished Product:
